Sorry about the late response, I started work for the summer this past Monday and haven't had much free time. There is no particular reason per se. The story in my head about the portions of Canada that TTL America has is this; during the revolution, the sieges of Quebec and Montreal are successful and lead to the capture of those portions of territory. America also was much better off economically earlier on in its life. When the US bought Alaska, they also bough territory from Canada that would connect the continental states to Seward's Icebox. A massive railway was then built across the country. (I will make a map of said railway when i have time).
The Canadian Prairie without access to either the Atlantic or the Pacific is more or less useless to Britain.

Christian and Islam (2) (1) (1) (3) (10).png

POD: Hilderic survives and the Vandals become a puppet Kingdom rather than being outright annexed.

Current Year: 1839

Justinian's long reign focuses more on the fight in the East with the Sassanids rather than the west, being blocked by relatively friendly Kingdoms. As result most of the Middle East falls under Byzantine domination rather than the former Western Roman Empire. However, the wars are far far more costly as result.

A rump Sassanid State left in the main Persian Plateau, and is forced to accept Christianity as another offical religion.

By the time Islam and Muhammed come around, Byzantium is facing lots of problems regarding the indigestable population in the Middle East. As result the Byzantines are routed and overrun. The less prideful Persians accept the new state of affairs (Muslims never went after them because they never controlled Mesopotamia or the Levant.) A few Byzantine holdouts exist in the Aegean and in the Pontic region.

Now having Constantinople as it's capital, the Caliphate claims the Legacy as rome as a whole, eventually conquering Italy. Germanic tribes and settled steppe peoples begin to convert to Islam rather than Christianity.

Meanwhile succession wars begin to wear down on the Caliphate, who slowly lose their middle eastern Homelands from homegrown Egyptian revolts and a new Aggressive Persia under a Nestorian dynasty, as well as a Pontic Byzantine successor state.

Meanwhile, the fate of European Islam is sealed with the conversion of the Franks. The fate of Christianity is upheld by the Arian Visigoths, who've forced the Franks to mostly expand into Northern Germany rather than the rest of Gaul. This is coupled with the extremely stubborn Alpine nation of Bavaria who refuses to convert.

Over time Frankish attacks and internal instability wear the Visigoths down far enough to their collapse, and the eventual replacement with an Islamic counterpart. Arian Christianity still survives today in Southern Spain however under the Kingdom of Algarve.

Throughout this time the Persians and their followers begin to expand through India and the Steppe, converting much of Northern India to Christianity. However, rumors persist of a small "Sultanate of Aceh" that survives as the last Muslim nation in the East.

The viking age lasts much longer than OTL as the Germanic pagans of Scandinavia are less willing to give up their faith due to love of beer, previous interactions with Christian refugees of which they've managed to incorporate some stronger aspects of their faith into, and much of the Islamic diet being incompatible with their usual diet. Nonetheless, they are eventually converted and almost completely eradicted. This comes with the help of Uralic peoples, notably the Finns (Finnic group maintained it's larger nature in TTL) Islamified vikings eventually make it to America followed by the now islamified Goths who land in Brazil.

Around the same time the Celtic Sultanate is formed in Ireland, and begins to subjegate the Anglo-Norse states which have been plagued by years of war.

Time goes on, history happens. More will be revealed in the full map, but feel free to ask questions now.

What happened to the americas? Australia?

I need a map legend for this one...

Yeah, it's complex and detailed, I'm working on it as we speak however.

What happened to the americas? Australia?

Americas were generally colonized in large swaths, however an earlier arrival to the Americas gave some of them a higher chance of survival in the long run. Australia's divided between a Keltic colony in the South, an Aboriginal protectorate in the West, a Frankish colony in the middle, and a Majapahit style empire in the the North.
what happen to south Asia.

Which parts?

What are the current divisions in Islam and Christianity? (Like Sunni and Shia, Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, etc.)

How are the Jews? American Indians? Hinuds? Aboriginal?

What happen to China, and Japan?

Ethiopia seem to have done well for itself.

How is Egypt, and Persia today?

How is Zoroastrianism?

I think a reasonable rule of thumb is if the POD is prior to the birth of the key person in the Religion (or sect), then the Religion(or sect) should not exist in the world. The Religions/Sects where there seems to be a key person in that regard are Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, LDS, Christian Scientist, Jehovah's Witness, etc. OTOH the split between East and West in Christianity, Protestantism (as a general concept), Hinduism and Shinto might still exist in a similar form with a POD more than 100 years prior.

The Canadian Prairie without access to either the Atlantic or the Pacific is more or less useless to Britain.

It might be interesting to see some kind of "North Prairie Republic" propped up by Britain in exchange for oil contracts, though that seems impractical too what with the North Sea being right next door.

Unfortunately, the Alberta oil iOTL wasn't produced until after WW2

Germanic tribes and settled steppe peoples begin to convert to Islam rather than Christianity.

The Frankish aristocracy converted to Christianity a century and a quarter before the Hijrah of Mohammed: the Germans in Iberia and Italy converted even earlier. Islamic western Europe, as described, seems a bit unlikely.

Ah, that's the thing, Western Europe remained Christian far longer than the East. Though I will change the Frankish thing. The Italians didn't convert, they were conquered forcefully.

On another note;

How has a such a small unconverted country as Jämtland have survived? Is it some sort of impenetrable fortress state?

Historically Jämtland was VERY resistant to Christianity, they survived mainly by playing off the Reform and Orthodox islamists. Their stubborn resistance to any occupation and the relative little value of their lands means they're not worth going to war over. They've kept their Germanic Faith by virtue of massive reforms to centralize it. Taking a note from Islamic caliphates, they've made faith a central part of their government.
