>>Racist
Germans aren't a race, unless you're 1940's inclined

That's moving the goalposts in rather a dramatic fashion. "Racism" means any form of discrimination based on ethnicity, it doesn't need to be when the person has a different skin colour - because at the end of the day, you're going to have a really hard time deciding where to draw the line unless you believe "race" is something that exists on a biological level (which to be clear, I am not accusing you of).

not meant to be realistic hope you enjoy.
Oh, Ireland. Is there nothing your presence can't make better?

Can I please just delete the post and we all can shut down this discussion?

Why should you have to delete the post? You've explained yourself perfectly well, and the mods are interpreting you charitably. If some asshole still thinks you're a neo-Nazi or whatever after that then that's between them and the Higher-Ups. Stick up for yourself, for Pete's sake.

Guys,
The map was mental exercise and a bit of a reminder that the things done to Germany aren't "normal and what it deserved" but rather just another war crime people have nearly totally forgotten about.
"It's a theory," but please remember that this is "another war crime" as opposed to the inevitable consequences of trying to literally exterminate your neighboring countries.

Just saying, gauche, but somehow not surprised it comes from someone who likes Germany in Kaiserreich.

No. Go ahead. Show the rest of us your true thoughts.

Japan was a reactionary, settler-colonial empire. It engaged in several wars of aggression over the course of the better part of a century while being responsible for the deaths of over 50 million people and committing numerous atrocities and genocides along the way. It's honestly a testament to the Japanese people that they managed to recognize the folly of their ways and embrace pacifism, even as the Americans continually have tried pushing them towards rearmament over the past seven decades.

I hardly consider the dark red areas "ethnically mixed area formerly part of another nation that your nation tried to ethnically cleanse"
which literally means "not german but germans tried to make it german"

I wonder what a map would look like if it showed population losses for Germany similar to those for neighboring Poland! Can you do that one next?

No, it was not "inevitable". Hundreds of thousands died. This isn't changed, modified, explained, or justified by other (enormously larger) ones.

Guys, the Bear has spoken. That should be the end of this discussion, or at least the sign to take it to Chat.

So to get things back on track here's an old map.

I love maps like these where it takes like 30 minutes to process everything and look everything up. It's like a whole experience.

Yowza. I am bettering every political cartoonist in that world shows Qatar and their Nebaki hinterland as a dagger. I can't quite tell, since the removal of Northern Palestine has kind of warped how I remember things, but did you change the Palestine-Egypt border do that Gaza is on the Egyptian side? Probably not, but there is just somethign I couldn't put my finger on.

Now that you mention it, I can see Egypt has Tiran and Hejaz has Safani. It is just those little things that really expands a world. Though perhaps those islands being like that would have more of a bombshell effect on a world with Israel and more similar borders. As it is, this whole world is alien, making us wonder about whatever is just off-map.

Heh, what a world...
Once I try making a speculative map which involves ww2, and I forgot to add the precause of the event into the text because I thought everyone would know the precause, I get steamrolled by a horde of people calling me Nazi and holocaust denier...

Oh great Year of 2017, when will AH's first world problems of nitpicking end and bring a new wave of great maps to us?

Make AltHistMaps great again!

(This post is not intended to offend anyone)

Anyways. I've deleted the controversial post. Next time, I should post proper AltHist instead of OTL ASB theories...

Sorry for that. Will never happen again...:(

Let's just say not to take your lead from Armanius in maps. Some of his things can be a little... Slanted. I am sure your map would be fine in another setting, so no need to grow it away. Just make it shown as a map made by a propagandist in another world. Also, this post does seem a little passive aggressive. If you are to make a map based upon an alternative WWII, then it is probably best to have it be one map, instead of multiple mutually exclusive ones. Causes more than a little confusion.

Mhm. I haven't even been a year on this forum, and apart from my Nightrise Fantasy TL I haven't done any real Alt Hist maps on here yet. I still have to learn how all this works.

The propaganda idea is a quite good one, but I think it's better to leave the map be scrapped, to avoid any new conflict.

As a bit of advice, it can be good to posts maps from a relatively neutral standpoint. Like you could post your map and say "Here is what it would look like if nations were divided up like Germany was following the Second World War" and just leave it at that. Let people draw their own conclusions based on the fact that this forum is history-oriented and so most everyone knows about the partition of Germany already (and has their own views on it). Adding in the extra text about politics and culture will just never end well, and it's better to be left in subtext or up to the individual viewer.

I should add your Nightrise stuff is amazing and contribution to BAM mapmaking is priceless, so it'd be sad to see you not participate as much.
