I wouldn't call the former allies NATO if they have Pacific countries in it. Other than that, great map!

These are wonderful! I love the attention to detail. So what happened to ISIS; is the Rightly-Guided State their descendants? And who's the biggest power? It looks to be the Mesopotamian Bloc but that Rojavan state is 'uge and in OTL one of the most organised and disciplined forces in the region. Is conflict still ongoing or has a sort of tenuous peace taken hold? And finally what's the ISOT done for religion? I can't imagine it's as it was today.

So that writeup is mostly in-universe propaganda?

Mostly, though some nuggets are true. For example, the U.N generally pays low prices for food in Australia then hands them out in needier places (including India and even China), which pisses off certain people.

Still, I'd advise you to read who made this map.

Thank you very much, Bruce! I was thinking *Macedonia in particular would be a christian starter-upper, probably significant populations of them exist all round the med. (Though, hell, with a literal act of god local religions might go in all sorts of unexpected directions.)

I do wonder how far people would really go in a scenario like this. God knows how the civil war would even go with the rug of outside meddling pulled out from the country - it may be untamed land out there, but there'd be no shortage of reasons for a lot of people to get the hell out of dodge. Lots of good questions to ask, here.

You're looking at a world where ISIS, Al-Qaeda/Al-Nusra, the PKK, and Hezbollah among others have all the natural resources that the US, Germany, UK, France, and Japan did. There will be a lot of havoc to be had.
