Japan, Finland, I get it! Because I'm Finnish(-American) and I like Japanese media, it all makes sense now! And we know Finns are Mongols anyway!
Whoever made this map actually misidentified the Asian country fishing in the Finnish Sea. It's Southern Corea, not Japan. Though considering most media we're told comes from Japan is actually Corean, easy mistake to make.

Well. With my next project, I'm going to be working on a "Rise of the Tinfoil" TL. Where idiotic conspiracy theories are true. Any ideas?
I'm a bit late for this, but the thought that the Antichrist and the False Prophet from Revelation will be the last of the Nephillim, a race of half demons that existed before the Great Flood, and that they would disguise themselves as aliens to actually be able to take over the world.

Also, the notion that before the Great Flood there was a civilization just as powerful as our own, due to people living to 900ish years and being taught things by demons (Like in the Book of Enoch).

i have gotten rid of Ireland, Iceland and Brazil from the Axis and Italy from the Allies, is this better? i really like the idea of Norway, Turkey, Iran and Mexico joining; for different reasons if you would like for me to explain.

A WIP but I thought you guys might like to know how the "Rise of the Tinfoil" Timeline was going. Going to be adding in Nazi Antarctica soon. Feel free to ask questions. Most of Eastern Europe, America and Arabia are finished.

Iran remains an unlikely choice- they were in the British sphere, again, Iraq was German-aligned. Spain was still too weak to do much, and would likely have been an even worse ally than Italy- Italy, at least, had a significant navy, as well as a large army (Spain was depleted from their Civil War). Mexico is possible, and always will be, simply because of the natural rivalry between two large neighbors, so I think I'll give you that. Norway, then, was aligned with Britain and Denmark- Denmark would have been more likely to join Germany, having pointedly followed a de-armament campaign in order to avoid conflict with Germany- though they wouldn't really have been likely at all.

Why is Utah grey? Also, Danish Faroes and Greenland, but Swedish Denmark...? I don't know much about conspiracy theories, I try to stay away from them, so that's most likely the source of my ignorance.

Haven't gotten to Faroes and Greenland. Utah is part of the white nationalist area. I wanted to have a mountain state in the CSA and that was the most plausible.

Denmark and Sweden are both Socialist Democracies who are rather immigrant friendly. So naturally I combined them into "New Somalia" Based on the conspiracy that Muslims are trying to take over Sweden. Denmark got roped in as well due to cultural similarities.

I still think Mexico joining the Axis was very unlikely, they'd be basically opening themselves up to further American imperialism by the 1930s.

Another WIP, not likely to get much further than this unless I make a breakthrough on the write-up. 'Nix' are vampire-type creatures that, fifty years before the map, almost took over the world. They can only reproduce by converting adult humans, and can only feed on adult humans. If I can't think of something cool for them, the rest of the map would just be generic future crapsack.

Darkest with light outlines are UN Security Council members, only the United States of America, Western European Union, and Russian Union, with greyer areas occupied. Teal-green are Old Nix-dominated minor UN members. Blue-green are New Nix-dominated minor UN members. Purple are enemies of the Nix, mostly allied with each other. Green are Islamic Union, Israel is sort of a member. Brown and orange outlines are Old Nix ruling in armed isolation. Red borders are front lines; in Central Asia and North America they are quite stable, in Spain, Korea, and Ecuador they are very active. Darker red lines are infested with feral Nix, they're only shown in North America, but would also be a problem in the Black Forest region, and others.

World War Nix

Nix are not yet defined vampire or werewolf type creatures who take over Earth, or try to. They reproduce by converting adult humans, and they survive by feeding on adult humans. (I'm trying to think of something like vampires or werewolves, without being vampires or werewolves.)

Since it's most logical an attack on the world would be focused on the strongest parts, the situation is that America, Europe, and Russia are taken over first. However, the Old Nix had to use mass conversion to accomplish their victory, and the New Nix are now in charge in all these places. In a few places around the world the Old Nix rule, in a few places humans have purged all Nix from the country, but in most of the world Free Humanity fights the United Nations, with a mix of Nix and humans on both sides.

Second American Civil War- Ongoing for several decades, static fronts, peace talks in DC, DC can still project power overseas,

There are four primary factions in the conflict, Federalists (Nix-dominated, Northeast, Great Lakes, Midwest, Northwest, New Orleans, Florida & Caribbean, Alaska & Hawaii), Restorationists (human-dominated, South, formerly Northwest, Great Lakes), Independents (human-dominated, Nevada, Utah, Colorado), and Constitutionalists (mixed societies, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Las Vegas, south of Oklahoma, Louisiana west of Mississippi). The region around the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, in most of Oklahoma and Kansas, and parts of the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest, are dominated by feral Nix, who are a threat to even professional hunters.

Federalists want to bring America back under United States control, with the new Nix Amendments in place, granting Nix greater rights. Restorationists want to return the United States back to human control, with restrictions on Nix enshrined in the constitution. Independents are neutral, and tend to be human dominated. Constitutionalists have proposed deals that grant equal rights to both Nix and humans, and they have stable societies where these laws are already in place.

There are several new states in the United States. From Canada, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. In the Caribbean, there are Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Panama.

Canada is now several independent states, with some areas joining the United States. British Columbia is now the Free Republic, Yukon, Northwest, and Nunavut are now the Northern Republic, Alberta, Sasketchewan, and Manitoba are the MacKenzie Holding, Ontario is the Canadian Republic, Quebec is the Queendom of Quebec, and New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland are part of the USA. They are all members of the Nix dominated UN, but not all are Nix dominated internally.

The Nix were able to take over most of Europe quickly, but Free Humans and New Nix quickly broke their rule, and razed the institutions of the EU to the ground. In their place, the Western European Union, and several smaller trans-national unions, arose.

The WEU consists of England, France, the Low Countries, Germany, Austria, and North Italy.

The Union (of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales): Having been driven out of England, the royal family and human government of the UK established a government in Scotland. As the situation in Europe stabilized, they eventually formed a union with the Republic of Ireland. The population is seventeen million, nine million in Ireland, eight million in Scotland & Wales. The Republic has a population of eight million, the Kingdom a population of nine million. (this should be a different color, UN but human dominated, next iteration)

Papal_States_OTL.png

[VBAM] Papal States (754-1870) with subdivisions (~1850)

The papal States were an influential State notwithstanding its relatively small size. Its capital was the Vatican City within Rome, de facto Rome.
in 1870 OTL-wise, its size was reduced to only a small strip at the mediterranean coast until it was, in exception of the holy grounds of the vatican city, fully annexed in end of 1870.
the Remain, the Vatican City, exists until today.

Nightrise: (Same Subdivisions)
The Papal States were the central executive power in the angelic faction of the demonic revolutionary wars. As such, Germany had to defeat the relatively small state in various battles. It is said that the Demonic Forces only had the chance to win because of the progressive Warplanes brought to the demons by King and unwanted-time traveler Friedrich Grünewald, soon-to-be Kaiser of the Germans.
with the defeat of Rome, the Papal States in their classical sense ended and a puppet government was established, making Friedrich Kaiser of Germany and Rome, plus having ultimate authority over the new Pope.
Asnationalism swept the Italian Peninsula in the 19th century, efforts to unify Italy were blocked in part by the Papal States as they were in the center of Italy blocking off a unification of northern Italy and Sicily, also owning the Ancient capital of Rome. In 1937, the entire Vatican City was moved from Rome to Germany's capital of Greater Vienna by using the levitation magic of over 17.000 workers. This transposition lasted 7 weeks and was secured by 720.000 soldiers along the route between Rome and Vienna.
After this, the Strings in the Papal States were let go and the Republic of rome was founded, only to be included into the Kingdom of Italy a few years later.

And When the Stars Don't Shine

The small village of Addis Zemen was nothing truly impressive. A few small huts baked in the hot African sun, as the entire land seemed to sag in the midday. And yet, it was Lent, and thus, Church was not exactly optional. Slowly, people poured into the crusted cathedral, overflowing the small building.

Firke didn't buy the whole Church thing. It just seemed like the kind of thing one would give superstitious old men so that they wouldn't get bored and make trouble for themselves. He was a good sport; no use in making a scene in not going. The absence of meat certainly wasn't fun, but Ethiopian Lenten food was good enough. He kept himself busy by looking through the room. His eyes locked with the icon of the Deesis, then Christ, the Apostles, the slowly glanced around the room. He saw the images of the Apostles, a few national saints, some other ancient figures that neither he or anyone else seemed to care about.

But then, something caught his eye. There was a new Icon hanging on the wall a few rows down from him. Everyone had talked about the Iconographer that had arrived from the monastery of St. Claudius. This must have been his first work. The vivid violet and blue tunic that covered the image shown brightly when compared to the rest of the weathered icons. He resolved to ask the iconographer about it after the service.

Just after Church let out, Firke caught the Iconographer exiting, silently looking to head back to his home. He grabbed his arm, and asked for some time.

"Who did you paint for the new icon in the chapel?"

"Enoch."

Kirke sighed. The Flood was another of those old myths that no one really believed. The iconographer caught on to this.

"Have you ever heard his story before."

"Of course I have!"

"No you haven't"

"So what?"

"Well.."

"Do you want to hear it?"

"Sure."

"You see, in the days of Jared, the sons of God began to lust after the daughters of men..."

i appreciate your argument and will take your points into consideration once i edit the map to make everyone happy, but i would like to state my claim on why i like my Turkey and Iran pick. the 2 main reasons are Oil, and Russia.

when the allies started to bomb Germany, the destroyed their oil storage, which in turn caused the Germans to lunch a full offensive to go to the Caucasus for the oil. which caused the arguably bloodiest battle in the war/ever: The Battle of Stalingrad. if the Turks and Iranians where a part of the Axis, if/when the allies started to destroy Germany's oil, the Turks and Iran would have an easy-ish access point to the Caucasus and take the oil supply, and pump it into Germany via the Balkans. that is why i like my pick. I know Iraq would be more likely in the real world, but it is fiction, alternate history is a subset of fiction so i thought this would be better...as i said before, i appreciate all of your guys' arguments. but let me know if this is a good/logical reason. talk to you guys later!
