I've got to say that the willingness of this community to accept blatent and clear mod abuse will never cease to sadden me. I'll drop the subject since I know CalBear is corrupt as fuck and arguing with them is pointless, but I have to say I'll always be disappointed how acceptable it is here for mods to do whatever they want.

My dude, did you actually see the map zalezsky posted? It was about two steps away from pornography, given its... suggestive nature and less-than-suggestive captions, and definitely out of line for a site such as this. I'm a bit disturbed by your tendency to immediately side against the mods in almost every scenario, even when their actions make perfect sense.

I side against the mods when they abuse their power. It's only that they abuse their power quite often, just because I don't comment when I agree with them does not mean I don't agree with them from time to time. AH.com clearly has a reputation for shitty mods and we have for years.

As for the map in question, it was clearly a dumb meme and I'd hardly say it was 18+. There's a reason CalBear tried to claim the rule was 13+ like an idiot when we could all read the rule, because they know most people will just assume their right. If that map counts as 18+ then the countless threads about Nazi's and Genocide do as well. But neither are 18+.

I knew you were going to say something like that. No, I'm not really afraid of the mods. But I do have the common courtesy to not want to clog up the map thread with decidedly unmaplike drama.

...here's an old map of mine of an alternate Magic Kingdom Park from one of my many timelines. It's not new, but I put a lot of work into it a while back and really like it.

Look, it's clear nobody cares. I have to go offline now, so I'll allow this to die here, but let's not pretend whats happening isn't happening. I don't blame Ah.com or Ian for the way the site is. I'm sure when they started the site they had the best intentions in mind, but it's clear the site isn't what it used to be.

There's a good reason that many of the best mappers aren't super active here: this site has the same problem sites that reach its level in their own niche reach - nobody but the creators care.

It's just obvious that most of the people on this site are lurkers or are just starting mapping, and that's fine. But they clearly are only here for the content of the site, they don't care about the site. I care. I remember when AH.com didn't have a reputation for having the worse mods, random rulings, or obscure and confusing bans. I wish we could go back, but its only a matter of time before all the people that are good leave for a different site and then when there's no creators left, let it not be said there was no forewarning.

This is a WIP of mine, just a snapshot of Europe that honestly is a TL that's diverged like 500 times since I first starting writing it. Basic premise for Europe is a much more political Papacy, ultimately leads to a more extreme Reformation and the German states of the HRE centralize and form a stronger union while the French are broken up and dissolve into a loose confederation (reminiscent of OTL HRE). Denmark, Spain, [Germany], Venice, and Poland are leading powers in Europe (the Timurids have conquered the Middle East, defeating both the Mamluks and Ottomans and becoming a world power themselves, the Songhai became a stable African empire and are growing to rival European and Timurid power, and the [Aztec] Confederation is dominant in the New World). The rest of the world is very much WIP however because I'm struggling to determine just what time period I want to take this TL out to.

I'm sure any female posters who saw it really appreciated the "sperm repository" bit. Perhaps it wasn't 18+, but lord it was not in good taste, not to mention insulting to Pipcard. (Just my five cents. Shall say no more. Have a WIP.)
