...wow that's a coincidence. In the recent 1776 map game, Hitler was also a drag queen!

Except that in that game, Hitler was a drag queen in Venice, Germany. (rather than Vienna)
But close enough.

Is Hitler-as-a-drag-queen a common literary trope or something?

If it is, it's pretty insulting to the hard-working drag queen community. :)

Wait, why did he move back if he hadn't left yet? If the Central powers win, why did the monarchy go?

What of the Hapsburgs? Without foreign pressure they would have held either Austria or Hungary's throne (OTL the Hungarians tried to retain the monarchy but they were denied).

True enough. Mistake on my part.

The Hungarians were too interdependent-minded to have another Austrian as the head of state; the Habsburgs are still around as an aristocratic family but with little power.

That looks cool. I'm curious about whether the various shades of red are meant to represent well-defined ideological differences, or if the implication is that the world is pretty ideologically homogeneous, with the current divisions being relics from the pre-revolutionary period. On a similar note, are the patches of green an indicator of environmentalist and/or Islamic sentiment in these regions, or is their color chosen because of its contrast with red? Sorry if I'm taking it too seriously. It might be a joke, but it's too interesting for me to ignore.

The Green are nationalists from different countries (Brazil, Ukraine and China) and Islamists. The various shades of red are supposed to show the differend nations but you could say that the redder the nation it's that much more socialist/communist.

So I've changed some subdivisions and borders. Utah now has subdivisions similar to OTL Colorado and New Mexico has a larger Northern subdivision which encompasses the historically (Spanish and Mexican settled) lands. Also the names of the territories have been changed! Now it's California Territory (OTL Baja California), Colorado Territory (or Jefferson), Dakota Territory, Kansas Territory, Idaho Territory, Indian Territory, Monterey Territory (or Colorado), Nevada Territory, New Mexico Territory, Shasta Territory, Utah Territory and Washington Territory.
Would the Bear Flag Republic agree to this? And shame really. I was looking forward to Alta California, Sierra California, and Baja California.

Thank you. I'm just super busy with school and work right now, but want to get some map production going again.

Have Frémont divide the Republic following his victory over it since it was a massive republic. He was Military Governor of California until he was court martialed but, if he was able to divide it then maybe President Polk would acknowledge the new territories.

He wouldn't have the authority. The formation of a new territory requires Congress to pass an Organic Act.

Finally got around to doing something in the way of a key and legend. Central powers with more chums and more preparedness beat off the French and the Brits who fall into despair and fascism. The Ottomans collapse into a communist revolution. China solidifies and Japan gets over it's goth phase. Russian civil war is longer, bloodier, and the central powers have time to intervene. The Weltzollverein and the increasingly friendly Japanese are now facing a revanchist Soviet Union with access to the Gulf oil allied to a socialist America. The fascist half of the planet is not happy with them, either. Luckily the Comintern and the Paris Council are at odds with each other as well.

Where is #8?

Though he could probably keep Baja seperate easilly, since that was a seperate territory even in Mexico.

Possibly, assuming he's in charge of the whole Mexican Cession - we don't really have any OTL precedent for Baja since it was ignored by the treaty.

Indeed. More likely that he doesn't actually split up California into territories of course, but just have larger sub-divisions within it for ease of administration.

And as a follow-up to my previous alternate states map, here is a map of the 2016 red-blue divide in states, based on my estimates. My methodology was pretty basic; I looked at the 3-7 most populous counties in each state and colored it red or blue based on who won most of them. Since full results aren't out yet, this is mostly guesswork.

Clinton: 38 states
Trump: 45 states
