So, here's a little old map I made a long time ago using MS Paint :p It basically depicts a cold-war scenario between US and Imperial Japan. I don't remember details, but generally speaking US arsenal is based arround nuclear warfare while Japanese around biological one. As you can see there was some bloody exchange between the countries with nukes being dropped on Japan and anthrax attacks on US west coast. I hope you like it, I think I might make a remake.

And here's the next one I found on my hard drive. Basically, in this timeline Rome loses the Punic Wars wich leads to Carthage being a dominant power in ancient Mediterrenean.
However, Carthaginians are not such a militarized society as Rome was in OTL, so their dominance is achieved rather by politics and trade than by regular conquest.
This leads to a far more diversed mediterrenean area with many ancient countries remaining independent.
Word "Aeropa" is an etymological fiction, as we don't know how Carthaginians would call our continent.
Oh, and by the way, Id like to apologize for my terrible english. I'm from puur polan, so dont judge me plox :/

Alexander's World

alexander_s_world_by_zeksora-da8xjhd.png

ITTL, Alexander the Great is not killed, his men do not rebel, and he manages to conquer a good chunk of Western India. 1500 years after the PoD, the world will never be the same...

  • Worshippers of the Old Gods: This diverse category includes nations from around the world that have one thing in common: they worship the Old Gods (think a cross between Cthulhu and Odin, but with much, much more required blood sacrifices). All of them are feared the world over.
    • Lands subject to the Odinsson: The Odinsson is chosen through a bloody ritual, in which chiefs that wish to claim the title battle to the death in a grand tournament. He is the spiritual liege of all those who worship the Old Gods, but the temporal liege only of some (think Blood Pope). He only directly rules the holiest site of the Old God worshippers, Gothland (OTL Gotland) and some of the lands around it, but many realms pay monetary tribute to him, and he is even able to intervene in some of their affairs.
    • Other lands: Many realms worship the Old Gods and the Odinsson, but do not pay tribute. They are allowed to do so because of the realities of the world, and the Odinsson's actual inability to force it.
      • Northman realms: Realms settled by Northmen, the original worshippers of the Old Gods, that worship them still but do not pay tribute to the Odinsson. They are remarkably similar in culture and structure, mostly being half-tribal, half-feudal, and half-warband.
      • Other realms: Many realms have begun to worship the Old Gods, usually out of a combination of fear of the bloodthirsty Northmen and similar, somewhat compatible, beliefs already existing among them.
  • Worshippers of other Blood Gods: This world is full of brutal, bloodthirsty religions, but only some are considered to be worshipping "Blood Gods." It's a category that has one main requirement: that said Gods require their followers to attack other peoples and kill them in ways that can be truly horrifying to anyone, not just the heathens.
  • Chinese Civilization: The pattern ITTL has been one of cultural unions, not actual ones, and China is no exception. There was never a Chinese Empire ITTL. Instead, the pattern of sometimes warring, sometimes peaceful states remained in force throughout history. This has not prevented the penetration of Chinese culture throughout Asia, but it has prevented the penetration of Chinese rule.
  • Hellenic Civilization: Alexander spread Hellenic civilization throughout the world, and like OTL it has endured, though definitely more so and in more distinct forms.
    • Western Greeks: The western, or Mediterranean, Greeks, are considered (by themselves) to be more "purely" Greek; the Greek homelands are part of their territory, and, with the exception of the Egyptians, they have not had significant outside influences.
    • Eastern Greeks: In contrast to the western Greeks, eastern Greek culture is less, well, Greek. It is a mishmash of Greek, Persian, and Indian influences. Which influence is felt the most depends on where you are, but Greek is always at least second.
  • Buddhist Civilization: After Alexander's conquest of Western India, and the subsequent hostility to Buddhism in the region (as opposed to Hinduism, a polytheistic religion that actually fit in with the established Greek one surprisingly well, with only a few adjustments), many Buddhists believed that the lands to the east might be more friendly, and they were right. Buddhist states today are mostly divided into three categories.
    • Tibetan Buddhists: The Tibetan Buddhists have the most temporal association; the quasi-theocratic Tibetan Empire and its vassals make up the category.
    • Bengali Buddhists: The Bengali Buddhists are the remnants of Buddhist India.
    • Dvaravati Buddhists: South-East Asian Buddhists.
  • Rome: Rome had a bit of a difficult time as opposed to OTL; more bloody and just more internal conflicts led it to a sort of oligarchical-confederal system, with numerous self-governing provinces set up so as to minimize the likelihood of yet more internal conflicts springing up. Despite this, Rome is something of a sleeping giant, and has incredible power just waiting to be tapped. Gaul is "in association" with Rome because it was this or get sacrificed to Odin.
  • Carthaginian Empire: While the pattern ITTL has indeed been one of cultural unions, Carthage is the exception. Mostly.
    • Carthaginian Federation: The center of the Empire, the Federation is a collection of the city of Carthage and its former colonies, united under a single plutocratic government.
    • Carthaginian Colonies: Carthage's colonies are not centrally controlled whatsoever; instead, they are private ventures founded by the same powerful merchant families that dominate the Federation's government. There has been discussion about integrating the West African colonies for almost a century now, but there are most likely too many vested interests in Ghanese trade for it to be a viable option.
    • Trade-dominated regions: Regions in which Carthaginian traders have sufficient influence that they effectively rule. (Think Russia/Japan in Manchuria.)
As usual, I'm happy to answer any questions. I might extend the write-up later, to more of the OTL-y places, when it's not 1 AM.
I know that this comment is a bit late, but I gotta say that it's one of the best scenarios I have ever seen. Seriously dude, there need to be a book set in this world or sth.
