Reviving the ancient title of Emperor and forcing the Warrior Priests of Mars into the shadows the new Global Empire has seen the Legions rebuilt and has seen the levels of centralisation increase massively. Not all are happy with this new turn of events though.
Most prominent on the list of provinces that have supported rebellion is Athens, old spiritual heart of the empire. With a headstrong Athenian princess in his custody the Emperor's right hand, Il Pator attempts to learn the position of the Rebellion's secret headquarters, while Centurion Tiberius suspects using the Empire's new Atomics on Athens might be the best opener anyway.
Meanwhile in the Distant south amongst Hunn gangsters and Bushmen a young Caelum Pedes has set out to save the princess with the aid of an Aging Priest of Mars, a Karelian scoundrel, and assorted other characters. Can Caelum succeed before the secret base in Yapon is discovered?
