It's coming along. I'm thinking about pushing the inhabitable zones on the Southern continent farther South to mirror the Northern hemisphere more closely and to make it feel like like Antarctica 2.0. There will be a political map to follow shortly and likely a population density and a natural resource maps to follow

Fashoda Crisis goes hot. Germany jumps in on the fun.

Come the peace in 1901 and the British and Germans have realised they can't stand each other and are both trying to court the Americans for the great War take 2.

Why were the Portuguese colonies divided? Did the Brits turn on the Portuguese or "convince" them to sell off their African territory? Also- no way Germany is giving up Posen. Not a chance.

The British and Germans bought them together because Portugal was bankrupt but wanted to help in the war. Posen was an effort to keep the new Polish protectorate more loyal. They're slowly filling it with German settlers in the other provinces too.

A sequel to my Pan Asian map, going to the Present day.

It is now 2014, and the world has stabilised once more. The UASR went back into stability, and has reconsolidated its position as a global power, with the former split aways in Central Asia joining it again as satellites. Even though some had anticipated a collapse due to the various ethnicities present, the largest nation on Earth continues to stand triumphant.

In other areas, the Russians have made a big improvement, having reunified with Belarus and taken a significant portion of the Ukraine by fair election. Their economy is once again starting to boom, and the idea of regaining the far eastern territories has been generally discredited now due to the level of assimilation that has taken place.

The Carribean alliance remains as oppressive as ever, being a danger to the Americans in particular. These brutal dictators are condemned by both sides in the continuing 'Slow War' for their oppression.

The main area that is problematic in this world is the chaos happening in Persia. Several rebel groups have emerged to claim their prize. There are of course, the Beijing-Tokyo backed communists, wishing to bring social justice to the area. There are also Shiite fundamentalists wanting to establish a theocracy here, and there are also seperatists for the Baluchis and Arabs, the latter wishing to join the Arab Social Republic (North Arabia's quasi-fascist regime). There are also anarchists and warlords that are running rampant here as well, so the situation is continuing to get worse.

Despite the previous economic hardships, a gradual disarming of nuclear weapons has created a boost to the Asian Economy, meaning they won't be collapsing anytime soon.

'Tis a bit insulting to consider all pre-7 year olds as being unable to survive. They are after all on average capable of higher cognitive function then the majority of animals. Further, the semi-common cases of historical child wildmen must be considered. Also of course those who suffer from exceptionally early aging and savants, the former being possibly physically and the latter mentally quite capable.

Of course, the description within the map is just a hasty generalization. There were plenty of below-7 kids that survived, but many did not.

This is a random map I made one day, and I decided to add a little back story to it.

Among other differences from our world:

The Byzantine Empire never fell

The Ottoman Empire never formed, but some sort of Islamic Empire rose to take its place

The Reconquista failed, and the Iberian Peninsula became part of the Islamic Empire

The South remained loyal to the British during the American Revolution, and eventually gained dominion status

However, the United States still gain independence and eventually bought Louisiana from the French.

But Mexico, or something like it, is more powerful and was able to keep both America and the British Southern Dominion from invading it

Russia and France were a bit more successful with colonizing the New World

The British colonized and/or conquered Argentina and Uruguay (both eventually gaining dominion status)

New England (plus New York and New Jersey) eventually broke off from the USA

Sweden won the Great Northern War, and was more successful in terms of colonies

The Meiji Restoration fell apart, the Shogunate never ended, and eventually Japan and Korea became British colonies

The Dutch kept Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa

Pan-Germanism was more successful, leading to a union of the German and Austro-Hungarian (who somehow own Venezuela)
