I actually really like this

Germany engages war with France as for our TL in 1914 after the death of the Austrian heir at Sarajiavo.
In this TL Italy sided with the central powers after reciving the (secret) promise from Germany to recive Trento and Istria.

The war gone wild and savage as in our timeline, with French pressing Italians in Val d'Aosta and Piemonte.

However, after a punitive expedition broke Russia in 1916, France fate is signed.
Germans marched in Central France wihile Italians, at least, and after a bloodbath, invaded Savoie and Nizza.

The war ended in August 1918, after occupation of Paris.
In Versailles, for the second time, Germany forced France to peace.
Isolated(USA never entered in the war), UK cannot do much and signed peace some times later.

Germany divided the spoils of war between them and Italy(forcing Italy to accept more land to punish France).
Italy gets maghreb and Germany Central Africa.
Belgian Congo goesw to Germany as well as Rodhesia and Malawi(That become a some sort of Protectorate), Boer states gain again indipendence but under heavely german influence.
Northern France is occupied by Germany and Provence by Italy.

As Japan sided with U.K, Germans took a revenge returning Taiwan to China and strength them in oppistion to British India and Russia and Japan.

In East Europe, Germany deprived Russia of Baltic states.
Create and indipendent Poland and a Free(but influenced) Belarus and Ukraine.
The same appened in Georgia and Armenia.

In the meanwhile the situation in Austria-Hungary become more and more critical and at last, in the early '20s the empire collapsed.
Italy fought a brief war against Hungary(where, anyway, the Hapsburg escaped) while Austria goes annexed by German empire as well Bohemia-Moravia "to protect" german people living in that places.

Ottoman empire falls too due to a war with Greece(sided neutral in WWI and so reciving Cyprus).
At least turks win, but they loose the empire.
Italy tooks Syria/Lebanon and Palestine/Giordania(to defend Jerusalem) and Germany is satisfied with Iraq and its oil-fields.

and this

..And here isz the next in my series!

and this

Why not, I didn't get feedback for this one back in VII, either. It's a brainstorm map for a possible revival of my Ethelred the Pious timeline. That TL stalled because I could never come up with a coherent plan for the Franks after 930.

[SNIP]

POD: Vikings conquer England in 871.
880s: The Viking raids that brought down Emperor Charles the Fat are less severe; many of the would-be raiders were involved in the process of building new kingdoms in England. Frankish Empire stays together.
920s: New wave of raids, many of them led by new generation of English Vikings; Spanish Christian kingdoms devastated; Neustria rebels and splits from Frankish Empire.
930s-40s: Germany chooses local king and rest of empire splits up. Carolingians stay in power in Lotharingia.
Projecting forward: To secure its frontiers, Neustria attacks Cornish kingdom, which had occupied parts of the Channel coast. Cordoba Caliphate expands across Pyrenees. Increased Arab incursions in southern Italy. Aquitanian king comes to power in Italy, fights off a major invasion, and is named emperor.
Not shown: Germany probably expanded eastward as in OTL.

The date 980 on the map is probably a little early. More likely this shows 990 or so.

1. That's just North Korea in the Balkans!
2. Haven't you posted that map before?

Yeah I have posted it before, but I am going to start to do a whole collection of quick entries like this about other countries in this world.

If you go back through the previous map threads you will notice that I have taken them down. I am planning to transfer to Imgur and eventually close my Photobucket account. So in the near future expect to see not only new maps from me, but old ones as well.

ASB I know, but I really wanted to do a Francewank.

The Third French Empire at its farthest extent, 1980, during the height of the Great Napoleonic War (1968-2009). France is under the control of two Emperors during the war, Emperor Napoleon IV, who ruled the Third French Empire from its founding in 1946, until 1992. His Grandson, Emperor Napoleon V, led a massive resurgence following the Peace of 1993-1996. Napoleon V led the Empire until its defeat during the Battle of Paris in 2004, until he was forced to abdicate, and was assassinated.
The General Council, a council of French Generals and Colonels, fought for power in the dying Empire from 2004-2008, during which time Spain, Italy, and North Africa were the last strongholds of the Empire. On July 14th, 2009, the Treaty of Nottingham was signed by Coalition leaders Giuliani and Brown, officially disbanding the Third French Empire, and keeping France isolated in Europe.

Third French Empire at its farthest extend during the Great Napoleonic War in 1980. It is believed that over the course of the 41 year long war, nearly 600 million people were killed.

A Random Map, that I shall be making a world around.

A very decentralized France has a Revolution, creating a Confederation, mostly likely ASB states. The French Nation won against Flanders and gained control of Savoy, with the basques joining in for there Democratic Revolution to Survive.

Emperor Napoleon IV, following a large amount of defeats in his India Campaign, and his defeat at the Battle of Beijing in 1989, the Battle of Tehran in 1990, and the Battle of Riga in 1991, he dies of the large amount of stress that he faced over the previous 23 years of war against the Coalition of Free People. His Grandson, Napoleon V, quickly takes power, and sues for a ceasefire in 1992 following the Fall of Crimea, starting the Peace of 1993-1996, or the "Winter of War".

Basically, nations hold the territories they held at the time of the ceasefire. By 1993, the 23 year long war had its toll on the people of the world. Over 250 million people were killed during the fighting since the war began, with 4 cities (Shanghai, Lhasa, Tokyo, and Vladivostok), destroyed during the 1970s. Leaders like Richard Nixon, who had led the United States since its entrance in the war in 1971, was on the brink of death, having aged many years during the war. The Soviet Union, led by Vyacheslav Molotov until 1986, had been largely defeated, but its victories in the Baltics and Ukraine had moved its border into the fringes of Poland and Romania.

It would not be until December 25th, 1996, that the war would restart, when Emperor Napoleon V led a massive offensive into the Soviet Union, Africa, and the Middle East. It would take 13 more years to finally end the war.

The 3 year peace had seen major leadership changes in most of the major powers. Richard Nixon, President of the United States, died in 1994. The British Prime Minister resigned due to attempting to make a permanent treaty with France, leading to immense humiliation, and the leadership of the Soviet Union shifted greatly. Vladimir Putin led a coup in 1993 to make himself leader of the Soviet Union.

Why exactly must every great ruler of France be a Napoleon?

Don't worry, Part III will be the end of the Napoleon's when the war finally ends in 2009. In Part IV, I go over the Third Napoleonic War, when in the 2020s, Emperor Charlemagne I forms the Fourth French Empire.

here's a map of the United States of North America in 1790

it doesnt look very AH-ish because this is from a time before most of the divergences in these parts of the world begin. ill be making another map soon that shows a much more distinctly AH map. the reason parts of the map that are nowhere near the USNA are included is because this shows the maximum extent of the USNA by 2000 and the surrounding countries; the furthest into asia that the USNA gets are the three philippine states (which in 1790 were part of new spain).

the countries shown here are:

  • the American Union (future USNA)
  • the French colonial empire, with Louisiana and French Guiana
  • the Britannian colonial empire, specifically Britannian North America, but also Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Britannian South Pacific, Australia, Britannian Honduras, and Jamaica
  • the Spanish colonial empire, with Cuba, Florida, Dominica, the Lesser Antilles (including Puerto Rico)
  • the Portuguese colonial empire, namely Brazil (at this time it has not yet become an equal player in the Portuguese government)
  • the Qing dynasty of China
  • the Joseon dynasty of Korea
  • Japan (Hokkaido has not yet become part of Japan)
  • the Russian Empire, including Russian America
  • the Dutch colonial empire, namely Dutch Guiana (Suriname)
  • Greenland (at this time it is under the control of only Norway)
  • the independent Ryukyu Kingdom, Kingdom of Hawaii, and Hokkaido
  • and some Indonesian sultanate that i cant remember the name of :p
and you can attribute historically inaccurate borders due to my own mistakes and misjudgments to butterflies :D:p

the next map in this series will be from 1817, following the inaugural speech of the president of the newly declared United States of North America. if you want to help figure out who that president will be, help me out in this thread.

a bit of a spoiler: Britannia gets its ass handed to it in the War of 1812/Napoleonic Wars :D i think ill eventually work on making an entire global map for each of the periods that i make for the USNA's progression
