My main issue with the giant maps is that I wonder if you could remove the link to imageshack? I mean, I like to navigate the page by clicking the center mouse button and moving the mouse around to look at the map, but the link takes up the whole screen, and clicking a link with the center mouse button opens up a new tab, which I don't want.

In the earlier maps, you'll notice a Soviet Italy, most of which was then occupied...but not Sicily.

Subconscious regional bias on my part, I guess. In the brown country (which is basically that world's equivalent of OTL's Australia), I have the equivalents of a shrunken New South Wales, a drastically shrunken Queensland, an extremely shrunken South Australia, and an uber-Victoria.

But I guess you could consider the green country a huge Queensland... a huge northern Queensland anyway. The idea is that the green country didn't form as a federation of states - it was a unitary nation that was divided into provinces.

I'd like to see an update of your TL, it's quite intriguing... but I can't really see how you'd incorporate any of my map into it, as your POD is after the straight-line borders were already established. (Oh, I guess if Victoria were to annex SA territory southeast of the Murray River you could use that border...)

I have some internal wars planned, and some external ones that affect the crappy borders.

if the map like yours has noise on it, or extensive editing done to create a final product, having it as a .jpeg isn't a big deal, in fact, it is recommended for a smaller file size.

Awesome! The only problem is the weird white/grey bits around the letters.

Yes, in the early version of the map when I added text I added a white outline around the text, but it did not survive conversion well, but by the time I noticed I would have had to go back and redo the bulk of the map. (Paint Shop Pro 4 only saves one undo, anything after that is gone- I try to compensate by saving a lot of copies but in this case it didn't work out)

I like it, the noise just makes it looks realistic and dreary in a 70s kind of way.

Thanks, as for your question it was supposed to be Transvaal but I just looked it up and it turns out that none of the Boer states were in Zimbabwe.

Kids let this be a lesson on what happens when you don't do your research like you should.
