OTL Carthage also had a treaty with Rome as well.
An interesting thing about Carthage and Rome; they were actually quite similar in many ways. They both had Republican forms of government (that the Romans modeled upon that of the Carthaginians, if I'm not mistaken), they both had a very productive (but often adversarial) relationship with the Greeks, same for the Tyrrhenians, and so on.
