Question: how "military" does a march have to be to count?

I tend to err on the permissive side - I would expect to accept anything as long as there is a vague military aspect to it. (And politics is an extension of war by other means, right? ;) )

I would say peacetime "show the flag" actions certainly qualify!
 
Nah. Leave it at a fortnight. For two reasons:

1) People will still procrastinate and we'll still need to postpone for a week.
2) Sixtnight sounds funny. :)
 
Any OTL examples for what we mean by 'co-equal allies'?

Something like the Franco-Scottish "Auld Alliance" or the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance are what come to mind for me. The "co-equal" is to exclude situations where one party is clearly dominant - something like the Warsaw Pact, for instance.
