It has been nearly 15 years since @Scarecrow first proposed the creation of the Map of the Fortnight. Since then, we have seen dozens of creators compete in nearly three hundred rounds of MotF. You can read more about the history of the contest here.

July 24th, 2024 marks 15 years since the first contest was posted, and in recognition of this milestone, I am working on ideas to celebrate and honor the contest and those who have participated. Some of the ideas I've been thinking about are:
  1. Awards for specific map contributions and contributors from the past 15 years, in categories to be determined
  2. An "All Star Bracket" to narrow down the best submissions in our history to one
  3. An "All Stars Invitational" round of MotF where previous winners battle it out for the glory of MotF
I'll also be looking for collaborators to help me with the associated projects. If you have thoughts or ideas about how we can celebrate, please share them in this thread. If you'd be interested in helping with the administrative tasks associated with setting up such celebratory events, please message me in Conversations.

Hello MotF Champions!

To celebrate 15 years of MotF, I'm gauging interest in an "All Stars Invitational" round where past champions battle it out in a special MotF. Based on interest, I'd like to run the round starting July 24th, concluding on August 7th. If you would be interested in competing, or in helping out in other ways for the 15 year celebration, please let me know!

I’ve won a MOTF?!

Well I’m away from photoshop until August 18th so I’m not gonna be able to participate but this is a cool idea & I wholeheartedly endorse it. If there’s any help you need, let me know.

Life is a whole lot busier for me than it was in the mid-2010s when I was participating in the contest a lot. My last entry was, like, MotF 173? 😂

I'll participate if I'm able to. And if not, I'll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines!

and I mean I did win three and a half times so I do feel qualified for it XD

I'm tentatively interested, I won MotF 147 back in 2017. I nearly forgot about it and there were two entries but goddammit I'm going to milk it for all it's worth.

Oh yeah, I won one of these. I'll happily admit it was a little flukey, but hey, a win is a win.

On the subject, I haven't contributed much to MotF's over the last few years, mostly as R-QBAM work is taking up a lot of my free time, but come to think of it I haven't taken a break and done something different in a while, so I may throw my hat into the ring if I like the prompt.

Thoughts on a prompt. Let me know which you think is best:
  1. Arena of Champions - Make a map of a multi-sided civil war from which one faction emerges victorious
  2. Shooting Stars - Make a map of the world after the impact of an asteroid or other cosmic debris.
  3. Back to the Start - Make a map with a point of divergence on July 24th, 2009.
  4. This Is My Legacy - Make an updated map of a Map of the Fortnight contest that you won.
  5. Greatest of All Time - Make a map showing the effects of several heroes and legends being ISOTed back to the ancient era.
Feel free to suggest your own as well.

Voting for the All Stars Invitational will not be taken with a poll - users will be asked to vote for their favorite map by posting in the voting thread which entry they are voting for and why.
