Realistically I don't think Sweden-Normandy could hold all of that.

If any European nation other than the Franks hold all or part of *Australia it would probably be Leon, *Spain or Venice, with me favoring Venice. If Venice was still a Merchant Republic ITTL, They would most likely be a strong colonial competitor in this world.

I'm not picking Leon for it because they would have gone after NA, SA, and African colony more.

Leon and Franks should be biggest colonisers of Africa definitely

Spain would probably be more focused on the New World

I don't see Venice holding more than small strips of land and islands, what would they want with Australia?

I agree Sweden is a bit powerful though, maybe Saxony could take a bit?

The same reason the Dutch in OTL wanted Indonesia and other colonies - Money.

And ITTL Venice holds southern Italy, Sicily, Corsica, Sardina,.... so their overall population is greater.

While we're not on the Africa map I could even see Venice holding Egypt (at least Sinia penisula) to facilitate trade in the Indian ocean.

Where is the profit in Australia?
I agree Venice would be powerful, and could even see them with Sinai, but the country is so small that large areas of land would be too difficult to police IMO

I'm not saying they would flat out colonize most areas and I was just using *Australia as an example of someplace too expansive for a smaller nation to hold all of. I'm figuring more in the line of puppet states and places to dominate trade routes. So, Southern Papau would probably be Venetian rather than Sw'ormans or another nation, but these were just examples.
