Map Continuation X - World / General

It's been a long time.

Here's the Bohemian colony in Africa, Murinde. The name comes from a word for province in the Ndongo kingdom.

Here is a full list of Bohemia's colonies, with TTL and OTL names:
  • Murinde (Angola)
  • Pongoland (Guinea)
  • Haitie (east half of Hispaniola)
  • Caicos Colony
  • St. Jakobus (St. Kitts, Nevis, and St. Eustatius)
  • Dadra (in India)
  • Bohemian East Indies (British Indian Ocean Dependency)

On the worlda wyou missed nwe Derbyshire.

You're right, it was sort of absorbed into the New Midlands... what was your idea for it? I think no one was ever clear whether it was supposed to be a completely separate colony/nation or not.

Anyway, here's the complete empire of the House of Luxemburg, all to the same scale. Sorry about the font mismatch and the somewhat awkward arrangement. [EDIT] Gah, I forgot Guinea. Later. [EDIT] Here it is. ... And despite my careful matching of the scales on the maps I traced, there's clearly some error here. Pongoland looks way too big, for one thing. Oh, well; it gives the general idea, anyway.
[EDIT] And I've fixed the font problem. The map's done, I think.

Where might I find such maps?

My MO is to just taje naos from Google Images and trace them with the marker tool in Paint.NET. It means my maps will always have fat borders and a similar look, but I'm happy to use that look for now.

For the scales, I just found maps with km scales on them and resized them until the scales were the same size.

This may be hijacking the whole project, but meh. I've drawn in some ideas for first-level subdivisions of the African empires. Work in progress.

[EDIT] Filled in the rest of the names. I had to resort to boring names for the Portuguese colonies. "Zambesia" in particular could have an interesting history, since it's sort of an alt-Rhodesia.

I've been mulling over whether or not to do make this map, but previous maps by Benkarnell have convinced me.

Decided to try my hand at modding MCX into Victoria 2. It's very... Time consuming.

Mauretana, Knights, Italian Confederation, Emirate of Sicily, Venice and Teutonia are in. Borders of Portugal and Papal States are correct as much as possible with existing provinces. I've modded pops, but Teutonia and Sicily still need theirs adjusted. Obviously, it's far, far, far away from the whole world being finished yet...

Additional screenshots upon request. I'd like suggestions on the next country for me to put in (in Europe), because it seems daunting and I need to focus on one country at a time.

Aragon should be fairly easy as I think its entire territory is encompassed in one territory in Victoria. After that, I would try Scotland-Norway.
