Map Continuation 3 - Map 6 - Jarnasia/Jarnassia (North America)

Hey, how would you feel about Nord-Jarnasia containing much of OTL Quebec and all the artic islands? The borders would look weird, but not necessarily unrealistic, and it'd make the nation more viable, too.

If anything I could see taking the Islands, but the OTL Quebec I think should be divided between Trovador's Seestaat (the State of the Lakes) and Vulcantrekkie's Confederation of Nova Hibernia.

Actually, I see Benkarnell has claimed part of Quebec, so let him have that part, and the rest to Vulcantrekkie's claim. I would butress up Trovadors Seestaat to Nova Venice more.

My proposal.

The green state will be Seestat again, as there are other Germans in this area. Quebec is German-colonized. All the cold islands are for the Kongeriket Nord-Jarnasia.

Bundesrepublik der Geisebai - a network of Hanseatic trading posts, currently in free association with the Hansa but essentially independent. German, Ojibwe, Cree, Inuit; heavy Norwegian population. Strong presence of Hutterites, Amish, and other Anabaptist colonies in the interior. Center of power gradually shifted southward as the colony attracted immigrants from neighboring states, and today the Great Lakes region is Geisebai's most populous.

Vetoed. Overlaps with existing claims and is not consistent with known history of the area.

I'm fine with the islands being Nord-Jarnasia's but I think Greenland should belong to Norway still. They still have Iceland, so I think it would make sense for Norway to retain it.

Dine Confederation

Loose confederation of various populations, developing independently with the area never being formally colonized. Consists of Athabaskan-speaking natives, European traders and trappers, and everyone in between. The only thing keeping the agrarian, free-spirited east and the industrial, mercantile west together is a common trade language and the colonial and post-colonial powers surrounding them.

EDIT: If a trans-Canadian Rockies nation is unacceptable, then I'll gladly reduce this to the land west of the Rockies. Also, Dine is a reference to a trade language ITTL, not to an actual native american nation. Think of it as like an Athabaskan Metis.

This will probably be vetoed.
You should change it to Navaho Ting or Dine Ting (the Dine Assembly), and have the nation a fusion of Nordic peoples and the native Jarnassians, as you stated in your edit.

Burgundian Nova Burgundy and Domingue.

Vetoed. Inconsistent with decolonised nature of the continent.

Look, I've no real reason for doing this but this is temporarily vetoed. I'm trying to make sense of North America and you guys are all moving too fast at the moment, so this actually overlaps a great deal with changes I've made to the map but haven't posted yet.

So, try again once I've posted another map, essentially.

No claims past this point will be accepted until I have posted a revised and updated version of the map. Thank you.

Dine Ting works for me. Sorry about that, Krall.

*Putting Dine Ting on hold*

Fine. Domingue I shall keep as a colony (quite possuible), while Philippia (after Burgundia King) shall be a decolonised nation. An Empire.

I have a paint-ball tournament tomorrow and part of Sunday, so I won't be near a computer until I get home Sunday night. Most likely Monday morning.

If any one at the gaming fields has a wireless laptop when I'm up there, I'll try and check in and see how the map is going.

Agreed.

Not agreed. That's not an empire. Also, it's inconsistent with the established colonial history of the area.

Claims will now be accepted again. Sorry about that.

Oh, and the Empire of California is vetoed for using a name from OTL and being an Empire when it isn't powerful enough to constitute one.

Here's the updated map with a new claim of mine
O Reino de Collarada, the Kingdom of Colorado, a former Portuguese colony.

So may I post a revised Dine Assembly?

Very nice, indeed. The borders are nice-shaped and the (sensible) nations are all there.
