Republic of the Aboriginals. Backed by the Northern Italains, if they agree to it, independent, very militarilistic. If it is overlapping, cut parts of it. If it's too uber, cut parts of it.

Unrealistic, I'm afraid. Before the Europeans colonised it there were no crops good for farming in Australia, and once the Aborigines had contact with the Europeans they were plagued by many European diseases which they had no immunity to, much like the Native Americans.

Also this map uses the Robinson Projection so that straight line makes no sense.

That's okay, if you either greatly expand or entirely remove your parts of Australia.

Unrealistic, La Plata wouldn't be strong enough to hold these islands. Also, I seriously doubt it would want them.

That's what I was thinking, since you'd need the South West_bit of Australia to make it sustainable/worth it.

It could be a formerly English, North German or Portuguese colony, too.

So here it is: Republica Nova Padania

Colonized together by Milan, Genoa, and Venice, it gained independence, well except for the small coastal area, which voted to stay in Venitian-Milanese-Genoan control. I should have colored it the other Padanian color, but I forgot. Most of it's people were convicts and indentured servants.
