Yeah, Australia is somewhat too big - and without any explanation or history. It was colonized by wich country?

Will be bad if it just occurs as a space-filling nation with this amount of land. I'm not talking about Australia itself, but about Tasmania, Timor, Papua etc.

Not really, there are FUCKTONS of islands in the Pacific you could still claim. Wikipedia "Micronesia", "Samoa" and "Kiribati" for a few OTL expamples.



Due to complaints over Australia's size and lack of explanation it is hereby vetoed out of existance. The area formerly covered by Australia is now free to claims.

Okay, so it was one of the many princely states that existed in the area before colonization...and by staying very, very neutral, it managed to survive... Although at this point it could very well be a protectorate of the North Italian Colonization Company. It's a bit like Bhutan and Nepal with Britain. They always had some form of independence because they weren't very srategically or resource-fully important. Just please don't veto it, pretty much any history can be applied to it.

Could've been a Portuguese attempt to try and dominate the area. It could've been the colony of anyone, really.

Edit: La Federazione Polinesiana or The Polynesian Federation, a former Italian colony that outlived its worth, so to speak.

I also drew a little ring around Samoa [or whatever that nation is] and recoloured Papua slightly.

I'm not sure which colony is which, but the one in Australia is vetoed, primarily because it's entirely useless.

Also, change Nova Guinea's name, it's too close to the island's name from OTL. Gandavien, the same goes for Papua.

Anyways, fine. Nova Venezia is the New name for Nova Guinea.
