Mao and FDR

FDR is the devil to some conservatives and all free market fundamentalists. It galls them that the only true liberal America has ever elected president also happens to be the most popular president of all time. While deeply flawed, he's still done far more good than most presidents. His flaws were largely in his being unwilling to do substantive change rather than cosmetic.

By this time FDR was probably too frail to do much about China. Perhaps he may try to urge Mao to strike a deal with Chiang.
