Make ANY (post 2007) movie topple Avatar

Avatar currently holds the record as the highest grossing film of all time, without adjusting for inflation. How could you make any movie surpass the $2.8 billion mark and probably reach $3 billion? Any movie released after 2007 is qualified, and the only things I can think of is if Disney built Star Wars hype in China earlier than 2015, and possibly a Marvel/Avengers movie

Just have Star wars run a few weeks more. Star Wars TFA surpassed Avatars domestic gross after 3 1/2 weeks. SW is at 812 million after 4 weeks, Avatar needed 20 weeks to reach 747 million.

I think Star Wars will easily topple Avatar in general revenue, not only strictly movie sales but also secondary income from DVD's, and TV licensing fees. And that is without all the toys, apparel and tie-in books... I mean, how many pluche Avatar flying dragons have you seen lately? So if Star Wars VII had come out in 2007 already, it would have rendered Avatar into just a footnote in the history of movies. A pipe dream of a director playing showing off the newest 3d technology to push a thinly veiled environmentalist agenda...

I think that The Force Awakens will easily overtake Titanic, but won't quite take over Avatar due to lower overseas grosses, though it'll be close.

Am I the only person that never watched Avatar? Sounded like a really bad rip off of Pocahontas and a million other movies:

I've only seen 2/3rds of it and only b/c it was the only thing we could find on cable at a friend's house when I went over for some DnD that didn't materialize.

I'm of the opinion the plot was absolute crap and don't get what was so amazing about it graphically.

The most amazing part about it was that it was the first major movie to be in 3D; I was amazed by the movie despite the shitty nature of the plot.
