Hey all, this is my first, mediocre attempt at a timeline...I've been a simple lurker here for the last couple weeks, and I thought I might as well give it a shot. This is, I hope, a entertaining spin off of current events.
As you'll see, I'm a big fan of the "news clip" style of posting. Anyways, I hope you enjoy...

TRUMP TO ANNOUNCE PRESIDENTIAL BID…DEVELOPING…
- Headline from the Drudge Report, 06/21/07
"TIM RUSSERT: So back to the roundtable. First, I have to get this out of the way, what do we make of these reports that Donald Trump, the Manhattan real estate mogul and celebrity, is preparing a bid for the White House? James?
JAMES CARVILLE: Mark my words y’all, Donald Trump is not running for President, he’ll make a big announcement about some new show or whatever and the media will get a few laughs for an hour or two, then we’ll go back to discussing the actual candidates, you know, Miss Clinton, Rudy, Barack, Romney…
RUSSERT: What party would he even run in?
CARVILLE: I suspect he’d be a Republican, like most of his billionaire buddies.
MARY MATALIN: I actually think he’d run as a Democrat, he’s been pretty tough on the President on the war in Iraq, he’s also said that he’s very pro-choice, and in favor of government-run healthcare…
DAVID BROOKS: I doubt either party would want to have anything to do with him.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Now I know I’m going to get a lot of flak for this, but if I were you guys, I would not underestimate Donald Trump…
MATALIN: Come on Chris!
CARVILLE: (laughs)
MATTHEWS: Now wait just a minute, you guys have to admit, Trump is a very successful businessman, and also a master at grabbing headlines, as you can see, we, a weekly news show, have just spent the last 10 minutes talking about him. When you talk to normal people in this country and ask them who they think of when they think “success”, Trump is one of the first names that comes to mind. He strikes me as someone who can do some serious damage if he is serious about this.
CARVILLE: Are we now classifying multiple bankruptcies as “success”?
BROOKS: Sure, Chris…I’ll have to remind you of this when we’re covering the Giuliani vs Clinton race next year back here in reality."
