Majority Frisian Speaking Low Countries

Just need a few ideas for a plausible way to unite the low countries under a nation that has Frisian as the most spoken language.
POD can be any year, it just has to be something that lasts into the modern age as well.
Bonus points if it owns land down to Alsace, if plausible.

Alsace?

Anyway I think having the Frisian kingdom convert to Christianity and be peacefully integrated into the Frankish realm could be a good start, otherwise an earlier pod could have the Frisians conquer Toxandria and Flanders and establish a larger Netherland kingdom that speaks primarily Frisian, its religion can be variable.

Charles Martel dies in his early campaigns against Radbod and the Franks suffer some truly terrible luck against Muslim raiding armies, to the extent that their attention is focused on Aquitaine pretty permanently for- 200 years? Long enough for feudal fragmentation to leave them impotent- but massive butterflies to their east ofc.

Without that pressure, Frisia has the space to Christianise while retaining the Royal dignity, as well as the opportunity to muscle in on more of the low countries. I'd imagine they fare poorly against the Vikings though, lacking in strategic depth- perhaps a Viking kingdom of Frisia emerges that's able to channel the manpower the Norse can provide into further expansion in the area.

This is an interesting idea. Would this largely affect the Frisian language if the region came under control of the Norse?

Have some larger state in the north-western HRE raise itself to the status of a kingdom on the basis of reviving the ancient Frisian kingdom - the official dialect of the country will be known as Frisian and other west Germanic languages will be defined as “dialects”.

I doubt it would be necessarily much more than the Norse influence on old English- meaning yh it'd introduce Norse words into the heart of the language. It might end up keeping Frisian more similar to English though, especially if the Norse settlers of England maintain contact with the Norse Frisians.

The trouble for the survival of Frisian is that Brabant and Flanders, where the Dutch language originated, became economic powerhouses. Even with a surviving Frisian state in the north, that language will trickle down through trade in the poor swamp areas that Holland and Frisia proper are, not as quickly as in OTL, but it probably will still happen somehow. The loss of the dominance of Frisian traders in the North Sea to the Scandinavians is the loss of the cultural influence of the language.

Actually when the Valois dukes of Burgundy Philip the Good and Charles the Bold were toying with the idea of being raised to the rank of king, one of the justifications was reviving the Frisian kingdom of old, and thus one of the titles floating around was king of Frisia/Friesland.
It also has some merit, unlike Lotharingia or Burgundy (Arelat), it doesn’t come with a lot of potential claims on other Imperial vassals, yet it is ancient enough to have a certain status, which wouldn’t be the case, if Brabant or Holland would have been raised to a kingdom.

The Vikings sacking Dorestad really hurt their position, though from a Viking point of view, it effectively killed the competition.
There were a few attempts to turn Frisia into the HRE equivalent of Normandy, but these ended up failing, most used it as a power base to continue to meddle in Scandinavian affairs and also were not effective shields for other parts of the Empire. If they would have succeeded though, I could see them like the OTL Normans gradually expand, Frisia and Lower Lorraine/Lotharingia would be possible.

So have Dorestad being heavily fortified instead of week Protections.
