November 1984 BBC Radio 4 7 AM

"Good Morning this is the Today programme from the BBC. Today's news:

We're receiving reports from South Yorkshire that the President of the National Union of Mineworkers Arthur Scargill has been found dead at the NUM's headquarters in Barnsley...

I'm slightly confused.

So is the premise that Thatcher held the election off, and thus will loose in in 1984 (in which case it should be in the first half of the year), or is this her loosing Ulster in 1984, or is this her going spare?

Both Arthur Scargill and the entire IRA Army Council have probably just been killed, so I'm guessing it's the latter and she goes insane.

Maybe all three. The OP events result in her going insane and that causes her to lose in a landslide in 1984.
