Was just reading about how Haren, Germany at the end of World War II was turned into a Polish Enclave. They renamed the city Lwów (Later due to Soviet pressure they changed the name to Maczków). The enclave lasted until 1948.
What if the city stayed Polish? Maybe the West decides to use it as an example of how much better life in Poland would be under a non-communist regime. Their hope to win some Cold War points.
Would the Government in Exile move there? What would be the Soviet reaction. If the enclave started to prosper what would the West German reaction be? I can't imagine it would be good.
What happens if this oddity were to survive until the Iron Curtain falls?
