As the tin says. Its collapse precipitated the Galatian Invasion which devastated Greece, punched into Anatolia and resulted in so many being hired by the Ptolemaioi that the racial makeup of Egypt was changed in many parts of that country. It also resulted in several Diadochi Military Reforms.

With a strong Thrace blocking them, the Galatians may go into Italia...

Interesting but perhaps the Galatians will maybe instead focus on conquering Macedonia and Greece instead of going to Italy.

If Lysimachus had been smoothly succeeded by Agathocles, Thrace/Macedon would have been a stronger entity than it was under Ptolemy Ceraunus, and would have had a better chance of fending off the Galatians. If Agathocles loses, then everything is basically where it was in OTL.

Where they would go next is a guess -- if the way east is blocked, maybe they would go into Italy instead of Asia Minor. I expect that a Lysimachid Thrace would eventually meet the same fate (Roman conquest) as Antigonid Macedon did, unless a Galatian invasion of Italy contributes to a permanent early destruction of Rome.

Make it a timeline, see what you can get.

ITTL we can easily see united Thrace-Macedon. And about Celts - why not take them as mercenaries and reconquer Anatolia from Seleucids. Then we get a state like middle Byzantine Empire - at least when it comes to borders and lingua franca. Bonus points for them calling themselves "The Byzantine Empire". Byzantines vs Romans, anyone?

Just no.
It would likely call itself Thracian or Macedonian empire, for one.

Lysimachus ruled both at the time of his death, as did Ptolemy Ceraunus. I don't think the Antigonid kings of Macedon, who took power after the Celts had been expelled, had much real control of Thrace. That seems to have lapsed into the control of local dynasties.
