Louis XIV Doesn't Revoke The Edict of Nantes/Somewhat more successful Huguenots

The French only allowed Catholic to emigrate to her overseas colonies. so, there was no Huguenot population in Canada.
The French only allowed Catholics into New France because of the Edict of Fontainebleau and revocation of Nantes. It this is not done then
this is not the case.

Toulouse and La Rochelle will definitely benefit and La Rochelle was the point of departure for many of the colonists that did come to New France. So chances are that many Huguenots would emigrate with their Catholic countrymen in the name of the King and the banner of France. Toleration does not change the fact that they would still be in the minority. Some would likely rise to prominance in France but chances are better in the new lands of the St. Lawrence where the population and competition for power and influence would be somewhat less.
