Los Angeles Riot WIs

What if the Los Angeles riots of 1992 had went differently such as:

1. Rodney King is not beaten up by the police.

2. The attacking police officers were convicted either 1)all of them or 2)only some of them

3. Several whites and/or Asians go "vigilante" and kill several looters

4. The police or the National Guard have a more violent response

4. The police or the National Guard have a more violent response

1. Rodney King was the flashpoint for what was rather cannibalistic violence by blacks and latinos against their own community. Take him away (or even pull media coverage) and the riots don't happen.

2. Even one conviction would probably have taken a lot of steam out of the protests. It was the perception of injustice that led to mob violence; no massive feelings of injustice, no LA Riots.

3. The term is "Self Defense" and it could easily have happened. The Rioters were not a coherent party and presumably the National Guard Response would contain any escalation in violence.

4. Then more Rioters die, tensions simmer, but pure force settles the issue.
