Like a lot of us I know a lot about WWII or the ACW. I am looking for a recommendation on a good book that would be pretty encompassing on WWI that I could get for my Kindle. I am not a total novice (or I know enough to be dangerous.) But I would like to read something that covers the politics and the battles of WWI. I sort of decided it is my next area of interest.

I recently found out I had a great Grandfather who was an Officer in the Artillerymen in France. He got gassed pretty badly. It turns out he developed Leukemia in the early 20's. No one in my family before or after has had that disease and my Grandmother until her dying day was convinced the gassing in France was the reason. Anyway, it struck a nerve with me to learn more. That and I am sure a lot of Americans would be surprised to know we lost over 100,000 casualties. That and the history of the bonus army etc..
