Looking for a Hamilton TL

I did a search for Alexander Hamilton time-lines but everything seems to focus on his duel with Burr or even later (assuming he survives).
It seems to me that most of the really interesting possibilities come much earlier. Has anyone done an early Hamilton-gains-power TL?

Here is some Hamilton fodder:
He used the early post office like his own personal spy network.
He almost got a nobody (Pickney) elected as the US's second president.
He is mostly responsible for the Alien and Sedition Acts.
In 1798 he got congress to approve an expanded Provisional Army of 30,000 which he hoped to lead. He wanted to "put-down" the Virginian Republicans just like the Whisky Rebels were put-down, He also wanted to keep marching south, through Louisiana Territory, to Mexico, to Peru -- He wanted a greatly expanded USA, with himself playing the role as Napoleon.

This guy was really, really scary, but the forums only seem to want to talk about his final duel.

I'm doing a TL, called The Empire State that has Hamilton becoming President.

I'd like to refute you claims however. Hamilton was one of our greatest figures; he was an abolitionist, founded the New York Stock Exchange and his economic system became the American standard for the next 150 years. Hamilton made America into what it is today. If anyone was the American Napoleon, it was Aaron Burr, a terrible oppourtunist who was the first real scumbag politican.

Excellent. I see it already has a bunch of posts. I look forward to reading it.

I agree that Hamilton helped forge the USA, and he had a better grasp of economics than most of his contemporaries. He might have been "necessary", in a way, to counter Jefferson's ideology. I will also agree that Hamilton was undoubtedly a great man in terms of being important, but I can not think of him as a great man in terms of being good, or in terms of believing in American ideals. My impression is that things like democracy, republic, and freedom were unimportant to him - he cared more about power; whether it be political, economic, or military: and that is why I think he would make a good candidate for bunches of alternate time-lines.

Aaron Burr lacked the ability to be an American Napoleon: he just can't be considered to be a realistic threat. Hamilton, on the other hand, was dangerous precisely because he was so skilled.

Thanks again for pointing me to the Empire State thread.
