Longer Spanish Civil War

What if the Spanish Civil War had lasted longer, namely long enough to still be a going concern once WWII had started?

Would the allies decide to provide aid to the Republicans once war with Germany had broke out? Would Germany have intervened directly after conquering France? Would Spain be drawn sufficiently into the war that the allies decide to liberate it along with the rest of Western Europe if and when they move in?

I think if the war is still going during the second world war, it will become a sideshow and pretty much no one will pay attention to it when Germany starts steamrolling across Europe. As soon as France goes down you can expect the Nationalists to win soon afterwards.

Maybe the Germans and Italians convince them to join the war or they cut off the Nationalists support. But that's just a guess.
