Long term WI Vast majority of Africa muslim?

Give concrete images of a overwhelmingly mayority Afrika with maybe spots of local christianity like the ethiopian highlands of the catholic Kongo Kingdom but the large mayority muslim and the christian spots few and far apart. How could this be posible? Would they be more connected to north africa (and therefore the mediterrean sea)? More connected to the indian osean trade? How would this impact on the triangular trade? I assume it still happens like otl but with minor differences. How would this impact on the ottoman foreing policy? How would impact the scramble? Would this reinforce even more the medieval notion that associates islam with dark skin (there was a medieval tale of a moor that converted to christianity and that turned his skin white)?

Its this too old for a bump?
Would a successful Al Andalus doing the atlantic african cape rout to asia be necessary for this idea to be posible? Or are later pods good enough?

But it is.

As the maps says, nowadays is neither majority nor vast. I was thinking an scenario where the VAST majority of africa was muslim, like the way the vast majority of north is muslim minus the Habesha highlands. So say, for example, a mostly muslim africa with few but powerful christian enclaves states, like the Kingdom of Kongo or Ashanti Empire (if it converted to christianity).

Probably has a more profound effect on interactions with Africa, I'd say.

I mean what your definition of Islam?

Because the degree of islamification isn't uniform and to be honest after the first waves of converts enslaving everyone else and the first jihads many, many, many ethnic groups became extremely resistant to Islam as a whole or at least islamic orthodoxy this the second and third waves began taking only the folk practices such as the case of pre-European Madagascar and various groups in West and East Africa up until the 16th to 19th centuries..

Has Andalus survives and you're done, I think. Christians will only survive in Ethiopia, and may be some latter-days European missionaries. But no spice voyagers, no early Jesuit colonialism-protesylasion, and more time for Muslims to penetrate Africa...

Curbing the rise of European colonialism, and the Christian missionaries that came with it, would probably allow Islam to expand further south into Africa.
