What if nobody invaded them again and Mullah Omar(or someone as reclusive and narrow minded{this has less to do with them being Muslims and more to do with them being Taliban}) still ruled Afghanistan??? What would the country be like today???

90% of Heroin, 93% of non-pharmaceutical opiates, and a large amount of Cannabis would not be in the Global market.

It might collapse again ? Afghanistan is easy for conquest, but difficult to hold. Local tribes/strongman simply switch sides to winning side but maintain their power. So Taliban rule (or any national rule) would only apply in big cities, if Taliban starts interfering in local matter, Taliban rule would collapse and Afghanistan disintegrate again.

Alternative scenario is Taliban Afghanistan get invaded by Iran (for Shiah Afghans and Herat) or Pakistan (the stronger Taliban, Pakistan would be more worried about its influence).

Slightly more prosperous. The U.S would be the biggest winner though.

I wonder how this alt-Afghanistan(while still a ghastly theocracy) would function, and how its relations would be with the Russians since it'd obviously hate them.
