Logistics of tax-based representation

Set aside whether or not it would be a good idea. Assume elections based on your taxes paid, similar to corporate shares (each dollar paid in taxes gets you one vote). These would be elections for a legislature. How would it be composed?

Would it be based on geographical districts?
Would there be a set number of representatives or would it be based on some variable? (Population, number of states, etc)

If you had a very broad tax structure that addressed the major sources of wealth and income, along with the industries and resources, to the point that it was a GDP tax, then it would likely start out on geographical districts and include redistricting/balancing.

What actually comes to mind is having classes of representatives based on tax regions. You make each region economically equal when setting it. Then you apportion and reallocate to reflect the tax structure of the society as it develops. This would have the benefit of providing representation to cash-poor, but resource rich areas, and so on. There are obvious ways to exploit it, but it could be done.

It could particularly be done in a sort of Estates General where the Tax Estate exerts a particular degree of power within its Chamber.
