Lockheed actually builds - and flies - the CL.1201

We build two, and even though they are pretty pointless for general use, we can call them the ACV-1 USS Resolute and ACV-2 USS Indomitable.

They will be pretty difficult to use in any role other than being Ace Combat Bosses, but could serve as an addition to the USN Carrier Fleet. I feel bad for the congress approving the budget of them, but they could make for one hell of a propaganda shoot/terror of the skies.

Now if the planet was big enough to where you'd need a nuclear powered aircraft to make long distance trips to carry troops or planes, then I can see a point for one or two. They still have one quite large issue though, how do they avoid getting shoot down by a SAM. Especially considering you might need either more SAM's than one or a nuclear tipped one.

EEK!!!

I don't want to be the pilot of the transport landing/docking/merging(?) with this thing. Turbulence behind this monster will be rough. Are the fighters F-104's or smaller? Are the pilots supposed to just sit in their cockpits for however long? Where does it land? That hull is inefficient for a seaplane making more than one landing. This looks like the battleship designs produced for Senator Tillman in the teens.
