I've been seeing the "List of Prime Ministers/Presidents" and I've always been interested in seeing if there would be interest in one for elections. I see the main advantage in there being actual history and work being put into it rather than just naming lists - although that's cool too.
Anyway without further ado I'd like to present this thread. Make sure to actually put some comments on the election and not just put it up as a list.
Rules:
- Write about the election
- Wait for someone else to post before you post.
And without further ado:
1968 United States Presidential Election

Hubert Humphrey/Edmund Muskie vs Richard Nixon/Spiro Agnew vs George C Wallace/Curtis Le May
Winner: Hubert Humphrey
Popular Vote: 44.4% vs 43.6% vs 12%
Electoral Vote: 281 vs 212 vs 45
An energetic and active campaign by Hubert Humphrey as well as Senator McCarthy's early endorsement led to an extremely narrow win by the Democratic campaign. Humphrey won the plurality of the popular vote by 612,000 and a majority of the electorate vote with crucial wins in Illinois, Ohio and Missouri which he won by less than 1%.
