List of Popes of the Catholic Church, et al. (0-....)

Hi,
let's assemble lists of Church leaders, mainly Popes (or Bishops of Rome, if the title Pope is not used).

But if you think a list of Patriarchs of Constantinople or Alexandria, or of Imams, would be cool, it shall be placed here, too! Feel free...

1. St. Peter (34-70), Bishop of Rome

1. St. Peter (34-70), Bishop of Rome
2. St. Marinus I (70-87), Bishop of Rome

St. Marinus was a Roman citizen from Samnium, born about 14 or 16AD (sources vary) to a wealthy family. Marinus was a soldier who served in Judea as a younger man where he had a prophetic vision of the sack of Jerusalem, that drove him mad. After months of addled wandering around Judea he was taking in by the surviving Apostles who cured his madness. According to tradition he accompanied St. Paul to Rome and continued to experience apocolyptic visions throughout his life and is said to have predicted the eruption of Vesuvius. There are no contemporary accounts of his death though St. Vibius (writing in 4th century) states he was martyred in Rome.
