I see a problem with this list, namely that it ignores butterflies. With a POD in 1970, there's plenty of time for people who in OTL remained minor figures or never entered politics in the first place to rise to prominence; conversely, the butterflies may perfectly cause prominent figures from OTL to remain obscure. In fact by 2020 it's possible for people who weren't even born in OTL to become PM.

Yes, it's that Rick Mercer, from a TL where Canada started changing subtly away from ours while he was just a boy, and has since become mostly unrecognizable. As would his life and career. But if you have to know, it came down to a choice between him and couple couple other media figures (Darren Dutchishyn, a TSN sportscaster/analyst and Linda Steele, a news anchor for Global Edmonton (CITV)).

Why on earth would Mercer (or any sane politician) call an election after two years if they had a majority government? Yes, I know that Chrétien called one within three years OTL, but that was a calculated gamble and it almost backfired on him.

I think that two years is just way too soon for this gamble.

Hey, look what I did with Yzerman :D
