  1. How did Václav VI become King of Bohemia if his grandfather had a son?
  2. When did the Jagiellons inherit Poland if Casimir IV is King of Poland?
  3. Do the Ernestine duchies still come about in Lusatia?
  4. Is England in a personal union with any of the Scandinavian countries as of the 16th century?
  5. How did the Habsburgs become Duke of Swabia?

  5. How did the Habsburgs become Duke of Swabia?
1. He inherited the Bohemian title through his mother. Then both Bohemia and Poland would be in a personal union until Rupert's death. Now if by grandfather, you mean Václav IV, Václav V still dies childless in 1307.
2. They don't. Casimir is Alexander's grandson. and i made a mistake on the counting initially.
3. Not exactly - the Ernestine duchies came about through John Frederick losing the electoral title to Maurice. John Frederick's sons end up becoming dukes in Osterland/Landsberg, since Maurice received Saxony along with Lusatia, so what comes into being are titles like Saxe-Leipzig or Saxe-Zwickau. And there'll be less margraviates to go around.
4. Yes - Denmark and Norway.
5. Being given the title by the Emperor. Their power base was already on southern Swabia anyhow, and even with the title and their struggles in the 14th century, they'd still comand little authority on northern Swabia, with Baden and Württemberg generally being opposed to them.

  2. I assume that Maximilian of Swabia succeeded Wilhelm III as Emperor of Germany?
  3. Does the Kalmar Union still come about in TTL?
  4. Are there any other monarchies in the Balkans during the 16th century that haven’t been conquered by the Ottomans besides the Morea?
  5. Did any of the constituent states in the HRE converted to Protestantism and stuck to it?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. No.
4. Bosnia, Serbia, Wallachia and Moldavia. Also, i forgot to mention that it isn't exactly the Ottomans going through the Balkans, but the Sultanate of Rum - one of these changes from OTL is that the Mongols don't come up, so the Sultanate of Rum doesn't fragment itself in the 13th century. However, even at its peak, it's still not as successful as the OTL Ottoman Empire in spreading through the Mediterranean.
5. In the long run, Mecklenburg, Pomerania, Saxony, Anhalt, the Osterland duchies, Saxe-Lauenburg and Holstein.

Miguel marrying Mary instead of Madeleine or Catherine of Navarre is extremely unlikely

Even if their brothers live/survive here?
Yes. Ferdinand II would still want that match and use it for annexing Navarre or trying to do it. Remember also who with a surviving Miguel and no Philip around (and that would likely change the birthdates of all his children after Isabella as OTL Ferdinand was conceived and born in Spain) Ferdinand would NOT remarry to Germaine (or anyone else) and so would keep power and influence in Castile until his death

Well, this one will have to come in parts - first, England and the House of Grebein until 1400.

Let’s just say none of the Navarre girls survived then.

1. No.
2. At that point, just in the succession crisis of 1383.
3. Only the Alençon branch.
4. Yes, because it doesn't enter a personal union with Sweden.
5. 1515, when François I became King of France, since he was already married to the Duchess of Brittany by that point.

Let’s just say none of the Navarre girls survived then.
Pretty unlikely as Catherine of Navarre had 6 girls of a good age for Miguel and three of them reached adulthood in OTL. And after them both Eleanor and Isabella of Austria would be likelier matches than Mary Tudor

Catherine had five sons but only two made it into adulthood, so it’s not impossible. As for Eleanor and Isabella, true, but I wanted Mary for Miguel so let’s just say dowry issues happen or Isabella of Portugal marries Charles V for that alliance.

Charles will NOT marry Isabella of Portugal (if she existed at all) or another ATL sister of Miguel as an English princess or Anne of Hungary are better and more useful matches for him. Mary to Miguel is extremely unlikely as she has no reason to be chosen over other better matches

Isabella of Castile still dies ittl and Manuel remarries to Maria of Aragon (that was the plan while Miguel ittl aiui), so Isabella still exists.
Mary to Miguel is extremely unlikely as she has no reason to be chosen over other better matches
It renews the Anglo-Portuguese alliance and an alliance with Brittany which is well positioned to attack France in the Italian Wars. Plus, I just wanted an Englis match for Miguel in general, so…
