Lincoln is Taylor's VP in 1848. Becomes President in 1850

What will happen if Lincoln, instead of Fillmore, becomes the Whig VP candidate in 1848. And becomes President in 1850.

Will he sign the compromise of 1850? Will he be elected in 1852 to his own term? Will it save the Whig Party?

As i said in David T's post, Abraham Lincoln would definitely be a better figure to balance Zachary Taylor, who had an unclear platform and lack of interest in politics. And at thirty-nine years old, he becomes the youngest vice president of the USA. As president, Taylor kept his distance from Congress and his cabinet, while I could see Lincoln, filling in the gap and making the office of Vice President, more powerful then in OTL.

Having previously worked in the Illinois House of Representatives for 8 years and being a US Representative since 1847, he is still relevant in US politics and knowing he will be a better President then Filmore, I could see Lincoln, being renominated, with his vice-presidential nominee, William Alexander Graham of North Carolina, whether they win the 1852 election is based on his first term.
