Like No Business I Know (2.0)

1) An adaption of one of the most popular fantasy role playing games bombed at the box office.
2) An adaption of one of the most popular fantasy book series bombed at the box office.
3) There must not be a big enough audience for fantasy movies due to these bombs.
4) We spent spent over $100 million on a fantasy film directed by Terry Gilliam.
5) We may have made a horrible, horrible mistake.

Of course, they'll completely forget about this once the opening weekend box office numbers are reported.

With egg on those doomsayers faces ;) Also, don't forget that the previous work of the writer and director of Rings were films praised by the Academy Awards, decisions that must now look even sillier in retrospect.

After Jackson is replaced by Minghella and Madden I can kind of see at least some Lord of the Rings fans becoming more optimistic about the film, as that would appear to be an improvement at first glance. Of course, other fans would take issue with limiting the adaption to one movie.

It would actually be kind of interesting to see fan reactions to the movie before an after its release.

Sorry but MiB part broke my suspension of disbelif(well is based in OTL pirates of carribean scenario, but both movies have a year of difference, that would have work as wink like that and that the movie was too exhausted and a little audience fatigue.

What is Mr Costner doing too?

No idea; last I mentioned him, he was in Air Force One. I'm wide open to suggestions.

That MiB two sequel releasing each other in less that a month was too much to be taken seriously, thus broke my Suspension of Disbelief(aka thinking in universe), specially as OTL Example, Pirates of the Carribean 2 and 3, who were filmed back to back but released a year of difference. That was my beff, feels so forced and unnatural, like you killing the franchise for a personal chip in the shoulder.

I said "months" (plural) not "month", as in "less than a year".

Well she bombed pretty bad OTL, so I don't know how plausible this is... Then again, it might be possible for one of her songs off her first album to be a minor hit (maybe in the months of radio confusion after 9/11), making her into a one hit wonder. Thoughts?

Perhaps, or maybe just a better label and producer? Could she try some sort of Christian pop? I don't know how well it could work, but Christian and patriotic themes play(ed) well particularily post-9/11 in Country. I'm not sure she could get in on that scene (maybe a country music star like Keith takes her under his wing?) I'm not really the most knowledgeable about that music scene to be honest.

Also keep the smalls together! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Smalls They dissolved under mysterious circumstances just before they were going to sign on to a bigger label in Texas, I'm sure they would have attained more mainstream success in the 00s with a serious American record label.
