Like A Shark I Will Tear Through Thee: A Carthage TL

This will be my attempt at a Timeline wherein Carthage triumphs in the Punic Wars leaving Rome a shadow of what it was to be. Not destroying it, merely letting it live in a weakened form and not as the Rome we know it now.

I am a fan of the Carthaginians and not an expert and I do not claim to be either, I am learning with timelines and alongside my other timeline that is in progress I hope to learn by my mistakes and criticisms I recieve from others on the forums.

The first post will be up shortly. But for now. Please feel free to offer advice on what I should be aiming for with regards to accuracy and storytelling.

Looking forward to seeing how you get Rome to surrender! If they didn't after the real beating Hannibal gave them OTL, I don't see what can. Best of luck!

Thats why I love the Carthaginians. And also the Romans. That's the challenge set for me. Just need to make it a realization and not allow the basic "Greeks Versus Carthaginians" to emerge as the only source of story.

The Romans will survive and be a power. That is my aim but they wont be the power we know them as. A fringe player perhaps. Yet to be decided.

Man, I dunno why, but everytime I think about Carthage and update my Carthage timeline, someone else does the same thing. :p

Punic Power!!! :D

Hannibal's ghost is haunting us perhaps. PUNIC POLTERGEISTS. anyway. shall be looking up a lot of carthaginian/roman data. so shall be busy. and I will certainly take a gander at your TL

I'd like to know what'd make Hannibal give Rome mercy, being that he despised Rome to an almost ludicrous point, and (assuming) would probably jump at the chance to wipe them off the map.

Another good point. Possible cockiness, might have him look upon all of Rome as one big slave and toy.

Ok Guys. I have decided to put this TL on the backburner to focus on my welsh TL and a Khazar TL bearing the same name as this.

I will do my Carthage TL one day soon, but for now Its on hiatus the idea. Sorry.
