Liechtenstein not a member of the German Confederation

At the Vienna Congress the sovereignty of Liechtenstein was approved.
Liechtenstein became a member of the German Confederation in 1815.
Suppose Liechtenstein does not become part of the German Confederation.
What happens then?

Everything goes on exactly the same because Liechtenstein cannot into relevant? :p

I suppose it's possible they'd be pressured to join and if refused occupied but I don't really see why anyone would bother. More effort than it's worth.

What would happen to the lands held by the Prince of Liechtenstein in Austria, Bohemia and Moravia in this situation? Would they be seized by Austria, or would it be another case of an "outside" monarch being a member of the German Confederation through his lesser holdings inside of it?

Relevant is the relation with Austria. Vaduz and Schellenberg are what the sovereignty is based on, but the larger possessions of the House of Liechtenstein are inside Austria. If the Austrians feel that the Principality can remain outside the GC, then everything is peachy. If Prince Johann I. Josef for some insane reasons decides to oppose Austria, then he is screwed.
