Lately I have had this concept in my head about how Russia could have evolved if instead of Lenin bringing communism to Russia, he (or a comparable figure) could have brought Libertarianism to Russia.
Did communism already have a foothold in Russia before Lenin arrived? Could Libertarianism have taken off in Russia against the monarchy? How would a Libertarian rebellion against the monarch have worked out in comparison to a communist revolution?
I just find it an interesting thought seeing as Libertarianism is pretty much the polar opposite of communism and even further away from Monarchism than Communism is in many respects. I especially wonder how the next 20 years after the arrival of Lenin would have gone.
