Liberal Canada AHC

Canada was a far more conservative nation in many ways than the USA untill the early to mid 1900s.

But what can be done to greatly liberalise Canada before 1900? Somehow getting a large influx of British and or American liberals? But what would cause the immigration?

Depends what you mean by 'more liberal Canada' since it was pretty liberal compared to the US in a lot of ways, while being more conservative in some.

The political culture was just incredibly different as well, copying more British lines with a heavy distrust of republicanism.

Bump.

And I'm looking for ways to make Canada more Socially Liberal. Takong a French or German stance on LGBT people. An earlier adoption of Bi-Culturalism. Quicker adoption of trade Unions.

No, but a POD in the 1800s could have rights given in the early 1900s. Germany was the most LGBT friendly nation on earth before Hitler.

Hmm, well have the Clear Grits establish an early Coalition under George Brown with the Reform Party under John S. MacDonald and Les Rouges in Quebec which manages to get some Liberals to cross the aisle and that could be interesting in the 1860s since that would basically make the Reform elements in Canada very powerful and actually capable of forming a coherent government unlike OTL where Reform and Rouge couldn't get along.

Then again this is hard to do simply because of who is leading these factions, all have different political points of view or have to bow to regional interests. Maybe not impossible but difficult.
