Less European immigration to the Americas, 1855-75

What would the effects be of less European immigration to the Americas in the years between 1855-75. Don't worry about how or why, just concentrate on the effects (I'm trying to work out the ripples of my Three Thrones timeline).

If the year of revolutions goes better, especially in Germany
If the potato murrain does not happen in Ireland,
If Australia starts life as a colony of free people,
If the Boers welcome more Germans,
If the British and Ameicans go to war over a pig,
If the Mexicans are victorious and hold Texas, the Californias and the lands between,
all of these, individually and perhaps in concert would limit migration to the USA.

I think you would have to give them an idea of how many you take away and from where in Europe they should have came.

Here is an excellent statistic of how many from where that came to USA from 1820 until present

That is quite possibly the most useful thing ever. Thank you very much.

Let's say 1 million less German immigrants, 150,000 less French, 35,000 less Danish, 25,000 less Austro-Hungarians, and 150,000 less from Norway-Sweden.

Pop c.1880 = 50,000,000 -> 48,000,000

Well, what about such poss factors as lesser nos. of soldiers in blue during the ACW, if the 10s of thous of Irish, Germans, eastern Europeans and others were unavail to supply the ranks of the Irish Bde, Pennsylvania Dutch regts, and other such ethnically-dominated Union outfits.

Maybe also blacks could remain a higher % of the pop than OTL ?

Conversely with a lower northern population and the associated lower level of industrialization, there is the possibility there would not have been an ACW at that time, or at all if European and Northern abhorance to the practice grew throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's.

Without the death of so many soldiers inthe war, it is possible that the growth caused by fewer deaths might offset the lack of immigration.

Just a by the way, the Pennsylvania Germans were already here by 1850, it is a later wave of German Immigrants who woul dbe affected.
