Sorry about my French though. I’m still learning. Thank you for the French India article, it looks like it required a lot of work!

Well there were two "incorrect" things. One doesn't matter, it's a -e at the end of géniale, but it is irrelevant to the sentence's comprehension. The other is T' : as it is a specific article, it would be "l'article" but what really matters is that I understood what you said ! ^^

The article has required several Wikipedia pages and a French website called Encyclopedia Universalis, but I found it very nice to learn about all these places (it's like when you first see an Oceanian state on a map it seems bland but after going through the wikipedia page it's so interesting you feel motivated to read it all)

I really like how diverse French India is, both in terms of population and of thought.

But just for clarification... does the départmentalisation plan mean for Yanoan to be on its own, while both Karikal and Mahé to fall under the Pondichéry départment?

Yanaon will be its own département, Karikal and Pondichéry will be one département, and Mahé ... is mostly seen as an embarassment by départementalistes. The common plan of the Socialistes is to offer Mahé a referendum and let it ask to be attached to the British Raj, as there is no French resident in the city apart from the bare minimum (a representative froom Pondichéry and a Greffier de Justice).

The reason for Karikal and Pondichéry to be seen as a future united département is that they are close enough and are expected to work like most French overseas work in this world (one département split in a small number of highly competent municipalities). Yanaon on the other hand is really further North, and is Telugu, while the other cities are mostly Tamil.

EDIT : Woops, I just noticed the mistyping. I meant only one département for Pondichéry and Karikal (Fixed it)

So how are Indo-French relations?

India isn't independent yet, however since the Irish Republic has joined the Commonwealth, the discussions about a Republic inside the Commonwealth are getting more and more serious.

France supports the idea of a Republic of India as long as the country is stable and doesn't demand the Establishments. The Establishments are in fact the original point of dissent between the Indian Congress and the Confederalist Party (the former is pro-integration, the second pro-French)

Is there a country you guys would like me to cover after I'm done with Algeria ? I'd like to keep this one post per week routine, so it's better to start as soon as possible (otherwise I always have the Equatorial Federation ready)

Does the United States or an equivalent exist?

Does the United States or an equivalent exist?

They sure do ! ^^ they had a similar pre-WWI history, but they didn't intervene as war ended before any US intervention. They have enjoyed an economic boom thanks to ridiculously high British investments after tax cuts, then the economy collapsed because of hyperinflation, leading to the Longest Tuesday (their name for the Great Depression, as the Garner government promised situation would be under control by Wednesday). The current government is the first Labor government, and it's ... trying to fix the economy

(I may do some special editions to show progress in the US, as a Cultural Trivia about America in a North American journal would make no sense ...)
