On February 13, 1936, Leon Blum was attacked on his way to lunch by members of the Action Francaise, and was almost killed.

Suppose he had actually died in the attack?

Okay, let me think about this.

Before the Popular Front took power, there was a Flight of capital from France, and fears that people would take to the barricades. If he's dead, I imagine the situation would be worse. Both the Right and Left would be more aggressive; the Socialists holding him up as a martyr for the cause, and the Right saying that Blum provoked the attack (as they did OTL).

Hrmm.
