Leo Amery as wartime Prime Minister?

I was researching for an alternative to Churchill as the War Time Prime Minister and I remembered/came across Leo Amery who was also a well-known opponent of appeasement albeit not in the same manner as Churchill as he was more opposed to the methods Hitler used to take territory as well as being opposed to the league of nations. He also was an economic nationalist and imperial federalist from what I have read. His Jewish heritage is also interesting as well.

Could he as PM be plausible? What consequences might follow?

His relations with the other allies would be interesting, given that he had a strong dislike of both the U.S. and the USSR. He also had plans to form an alliance with Italy, although I think that ship would probably have sailed by the time he became PM.

His Federalist ambitions also would've brought him into conflict with some of the dominions easily.

Don't know about the plausibility, he was even more isolated than Churchill and having a Nazi for a son wouldn't exactly have helped. Bit of a mixed bag as to whether he'd do better, presumably he'd meddle less in military affairs but his past run-ins with the Americans might delay their entry into the war.
