January 27, 1981-During an appearance at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, Lennon takes notice that Pope John Paul II is in attendance. He quips, "the last time I had someone important in the audience was when the Beatles did the Royal Command Performance for the Queen."
 
January 30, 1981-American and French officials reach a deal. France will extradite Bundy to the U.S. if the federal government gives up their pressing claims for the extradition of Roman Polanski.

February 1, 1981-Lennon sets foot in the UK for the first time in a decade to begin a series of dates there. The tour begins in Manchester.
 
February 10, 1981-The final date of the European Tour is a concert at the King's Dock in his birthplace of Liverpool. An ecstatic crowd welcomes him and the energy of the show is quite apparent. Towards the end of the show, Paul McCartney appears onstage, and they do five numbers together. Hopes for a full Beatles reunion soar.
 
February 14, 1981 - Lennon, at the urging of David Geffen, goes to Peter Gabriel's house near Bath in England to record backing vocals for the track "Shock the Monkey". Gabriel agrees to come to New York to work on Lennon's next album in return.
 
February 20, 1981-Lennon moves to do an Australasian leg of the Double Fantasy tour to wrap things up. Starting at the Budokan, Lennon, Ono, and their band kick it into high gear. Lennon also promises that "the tour for the next album's gonna be much longer. This was a shakedown cruise to see if I still had it."
 
February 22, 1981-Ted Bundy is officially extradited back to the United States and immediately escorted into maximum security.
 
February 26, 1981-Lennon takes a break from work to play piano and guitar and tracks for Ringo Starr's upcoming album, Can't Fight Lightning.
